About Hostel

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) provides safe, secure, and disciplined residential facilities for both male and female students through its Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels. These hostels primarily cater to students from inter-island and remote areas of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, ensuring a supportive environment conducive to academic focus, personal growth, and overall wellbeing.

Boys’ Hostel Overview

The DBRAIT Boys’ Hostel was established in 1993 with an initial capacity of 60 students. Over the years, the infrastructure has been expanded to meet growing demands, and the hostel currently has a sanctioned capacity of 144 students. The hostel plays a key role in providing access to higher education while ensuring safety, discipline, and a homely environment for students.

Girls’ Hostel Overview

The DBRAIT Girls’ Hostel was established in 1994 with an initial capacity of 40 students and was later expanded to accommodate up to 120 students. The hostel focuses on ensuring safety, security, and a nurturing environment for female students, particularly those from remote and inter-island regions.
