Dr. Shrabani Mallick Head of Department(I/c)

Welcome to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Sri Vijaya Puram, now a constituent institution under the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Institute of Higher Learning (Deemed to be University under de-novo category).

The Department is committed to imparting quality education, fostering innovation, and nurturing technical excellence among our students. Our curriculum blends strong theoretical foundations with practical exposure to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cloud Computing, IOT and Cyber Security.

In alignment with the vision of the newly established University and the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, we emphasize multidisciplinary learning, research orientation, and skill-based education to prepare students for the dynamic global environment.

We are deeply oriented in island-specific research initiatives addressing the unique challenges of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The Department also encourages continuous learning through NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) and other digital learning platforms. Students are motivated to take up NPTEL courses offered by IITs and premier institutions to supplement classroom learning and gain exposure to advanced topics, industry-relevant technologies, and interdisciplinary domains. Faculty members actively mentor students in completing these online certifications, ensuring integration of NPTEL learning outcomes with the regular curriculum. This initiative strengthens the self-learning culture envisioned in NEP 2020, fostering academic flexibility, lifelong learning, and professional excellence.

With a dedicated team of faculty, well equipped laboratories, and an inclusive academic culture, the Department strives to inspire students to pursue excellence, creativity, and social responsibility. Together, we aim to transform knowledge into action and technology into meaningful solutions for our islands and beyond.
