About Department

The Electrical Engineering Department was started with the inception of the institute in the year 1984. The department has good infrastructural facilities and is equipped with full fledged laboratories such as Basic Electrical Measurement lab, Electrical Machines Lab, Electrical Workshop and PLC Lab. An Electrical Maintenance Cell has been functioning under the department with the objective of undertaking repair and maintenance of electrical work of institute campus and for maintaining uninterrupted power supply through standby DG Sets.

The department also conducts short term skill development courses for unemployed youths such as Electrician, Domestic Appliances Repairer and Electrical Wireman.

The department of Electrical Engineering has well qualified and experienced faculty along with support staff for imparting quality knowledge and skill to students.

The department also has audio visual facilities with LCD projectors in each classrooms for effective teaching.

The department is committed to provide industry specific knowledge and skills in the field of electrical engineering to students so that they can compete and excel globally.

Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering at DBRAIT !

To meet the growing demand of Electrical Engineers and Electrical Technicians in the Government and Private sectors, the department is making best efforts to produce trained and competent engineers and technicians who can take up the challenges of the real world across the globe.

The objectives of the department are to maintain high academic standards and to give due weightage to practical work. The department has a blend of young, dynamic and experienced faculty, who are involved in imparting quality education and practical knowledge to the students. The faculty strives to foster and encourage a teaching methodology that has right mix of both theoretical and practical approach.

The labs are equipped with state of arts equipments and being upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for the students to learn and innovate. The department also organizes interactive lectures by inviting technocrats from industries for the overall development of students.

The Department is giving due importance to the Skill Development to address the growing demand for skilled manpower. The department has established an Electrical Maintenance Cell responsible for all electrical maintenance work of entire campus and to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the institute campus. The department offers short term Skill Development courses on Electrician, Domestic Appliances Repairer and Electrical Wireman for unemployed youth of the Islands besides diploma program in Electrical Engineering. Educational tours, industrial visits and internships are regularly organized to enhance the practical knowledge of the students with exposure to recent technologies used in the industries.
