About Department

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in the year 1989 with intake of 10. Initially the program was affiliated to Board of technical education, Delhi. Later in the year 2003, the program has been affiliated to MSBTE with an intake 40. At present the intake capacity is 60. Thus from a modest beginning the department has come a long way. Today it is one of the prime Education Institute of the Islands. The curriculum prescribed by MSBTE for Electronics covers all the advanced topic and the list of practical in each subject make the student well verse with the practical application. All the relevant Laboratories are equipped with State of the art Equipments. Students are given 100% freedom to fully utilize the Lab facilities. Department has signed an MoU with Scientech Technology Pvt Ltd. As a part of curriculum, students are send for 12 weeks internship after 4th sem in various organization such as BSNL, ISRO, AIRTEL, Electronic Equipments  Service Sectors (Samsung). Students are also send for Industrial visit, also they undertake Online Internship in Internshala.

Infrastructure

The department has well equipped with state of the art infrastructure to support both academic and practical learning. All the three class rooms LCD projector, mini computer with wi fi facility for effective learning.

The department has eight labs and a mainetance cell. The mainenance cell handle all electronic appliances in the campus. It also handles CCTV installation and maintenance, Display units, Audio Visual equipments in AV/ Conference Hall, Auditorium etc.

1. Basic Electronics lab. - The Basic Electronics Laboratory is well-equipped with modern test and measurement instruments to analyze and evaluate the performance of both passive and active electronic components. Students can perform hands-on experiments using devices such as multimeters, CRO/DSO, function generators, and regulated power supplies to study circuit behavior.

2. Digital Electronic Lab -This Lab. is well-equipped with advanced test and measurement instruments for evaluating the performance of SSI, MSI, LSI, and VLSI digital ICs. The lab enables students to design, implement, and test digital circuits, including interface experiments with various transducers and sensors. It also offers simulation facilities through Proteus, online logic simulation platforms, and VIVADO software for VHDL-based digital design, synthesis, and verification. This comprehensive setup provides hands-on learning and strengthens students’ skills in modern digital system development.

3. Communication System Lab. - The Communication Laboratory is well-equipped with advanced test and measuring instruments, along with trainers. It includes setups for satellite transmission, analog, and digital communication systems, Hamming code generation and correction, delta modulation, mobile communication, Antenna system experiments and television system analysis. Students gain practical exposure to real-time signal transmission, modulation, fiber optic communication, digital modulation schemes, and antenna parameter evaluation. Simulation and analysis are carried out using Scilab and OptiSystem software, enabling students to design, model, and evaluate modern communication networks effectively.

4. Electronics Workshop - The Electronics Workshop is well-equipped with essential test and measuring instruments for analyzing and testing both active and passive components. It features PCB design software and a CNC PCB drilling machine for designing circuit layouts, transferring them onto copper-clad boards, and performing precise drilling operations. Students gain hands-on experience in soldering and desoldering techniques, assembly, and troubleshooting of circuits.

5. Applied Electronics Lab. - The Applied Electronics Laboratory is fully equipped with modern test and measuring instruments, along with a wide range of active and passive components, operational amplifiers, and timer ICs. Students perform hands-on experiments using operational amplifiers to study applications such as inverting and non-inverting amplifiers, differentiators, integrators, comparators, and multivibrators. The lab provides a strong practical foundation in analog circuit design and analysis, helping students understand real-world behavior of electronic systems and their industrial relevance.

6. Embedded System Lab. - The Embedded Systems Laboratory is equipped with advanced trainer kits based on the 8086 microprocessor and microcontroller platforms, enabling students to perform practical experiments through PC interfacing.
