About Department

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in the year 1989 to start Diploma Program in second Government Polytechnic in the same campus of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Government Polytechnic at Pahargaon, Sri Vijaya Puram. The program of Diploma in Electronics & Communication has been cover under ISO Certification since 2001 & has been accredited by NBA. A under graduate program leading to B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering was introduced in the year 2009 and has been affiliated to Pondicherry University. In the year 2010 both Degree and Diploma courses of Electronics & Communication Engineering is brought under the single roof of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology. Thus from a modest beginning the department has come a long way. Today it is one of the prime Education Institute of the Island in Electronics & Communication Engineering. The Diploma & Degree students passed out from Electronics & Communication Engineering are working in reputed companies/ firm in mainland with very good annual package.

Welcome to the department of Electronics and Communication EngineeringDr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Sri Vijaya Puram. Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2009, and the institute under Andaman and Nicobar administration, Govt. of India, was affiliated to Pondicherry University. Since the beginning department has been providing technical and quality education in the field of electronics and communication engineering. Department has good infrastructure including laboratories and research facilities in sub domains of electronics and communication like electronic devices and circuits, communication engineering, microprocessors and microcontrollers, RF and microwave engineering and many more. Faculty members of the department have received projects and grants from various govt. agencies, and are doing good research and publishing research publications such as book chapters, conference papers and journal papers in various conferences and journals of repute including international indexing database. The department has active collaborations with academic and research institutes.

      The department of electronics and communication engineering faculty members have excellent academic and research credentials and they are committed to provide quality education and research in the field of electronics and communication engineering. In addition to academic excellence here the students are motivated to participate in various activities (technical and non technical) and inculcate versatile development in themselves. The department regularly conducts seminars, workshops, and faculty development programs (FDPs) to keep pace with the new evolution and advanced technologies. The department of ECE promotes a self-learning attitude, entrepreneurial skills, and professional ethics. The department is hopeful and confident to produce graduates having excellent academic background, capable of solving problems of society and can contribute in academia, industry and research.

Basic Electronics Laboratory :

Basic electronics is the base of all advance electronics. It starts with PN junction which make the student to follow the function of all semiconductor based electronics.


Digital Laboratory :

To impart in-depth knowledge about digital circuits and design as digital circuits has become the backbone of every field of automatiom.
