Brief Description of Duties and Contributions (Academic and Administrative)

With over 25 years of committed service at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), I have played a dynamic role in teaching, administration, student development, and institutional growth through continuous dedication, innovation, and leadership.

A. Academic and Teaching Responsibilities

1. Conducted theory and practical classes for Diploma Courses through both offline and online modes, ensuring academic continuity even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 2. Evaluated student performance through assignments, tests, and internal assessments as per ISO procedures and conducted Board Practical Examinations.

 3. Served as an Assessor for MSBTE Theory Examinations held during summer and winter sessions.

 4. Guided several student projects of practical and social relevance, including:

a. Installation and fabrication of sprinklers for the institute garden.

b. Conversion of waste plastic into fuel.

 c. Fabrication of a Copra Dryer using solar-powered collectors.

d. Various other innovative projects that received Best Project Awards from panels of technocrats.

B. Leadership and Administrative Roles

1. Headed the Department of Mechanical Engineering, efficiently fulfilling all duties and responsibilities as Faculty In-charge (2011–2013).

 2. Served as Dean (Students’ Affairs), ensuring the successful implementation of Government of India and AICTE initiatives such as Vigilance Awareness Week, Constitution Day, Rashtriya Ekta Saptah, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, EBSB (Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat), and National Voters Day.

3.  Implemented the AICTE Pragati Scheme for Girl Students, under which for the first time, nine girl students (B.Tech and Diploma) were awarded scholarships of ?50,000 each in 2022.

 4. Organized the Induction Program for Freshers to facilitate their smooth transition into the institute’s academic environment.

 5. Oversaw the upkeep, maintenance, and effective utilization of the Auditorium and Multipurpose Hall, also coordinating civic receptions for visiting VVIPs and dignitaries.

 6. Initiated and conceptualized the College Festival “ANCOL FEST” (now ANCO FEST) in 2007 with modest sponsorship support. Over the years, it has grown into a major institutional event attracting over 1,500 participants annually.

 7. Served as the main organizer of the annual Techno-Sports Fest since 2007, coordinating a day-long event featuring 25–30 technical and sports competitions that promote teamwork, innovation, and physical fitness.

8.  Functioned as Officer-in-Charge for AMIE Examinations for nearly two decades, conducting both Summer and Winter sessions (Part A & Part B).

 9. Implemented the National Scholarship Scheme for higher education, benefitting numerous islander students pursuing studies on the mainland.

 10. Served as Nodal Officer for National Consultation on Voter’s Participation, facilitating the issuance of several EPIC cards to students and promoting democratic engagement on campus.

C. Community and Outreach Initiatives

1. Led the CONRUSTT initiative (Connecting Rural Students through Technology Transfer), through which thousands of students from Classes 8–12 across rural and South Andaman regions visited the institute to gain first-hand exposure to technical education.

2. Initiated career counseling programs for students of Classes IX to XII by involving institute students in outreach visits across South, Middle, and North Andaman, covering a maximum number of senior secondary schools and motivating youth toward technical education.

 3. As a Member of the Media Cell, maintained effective liaison with print and digital media, ensuring timely dissemination of institute news and achievements through press releases and social media updates.

 4. Collaborated with the Chief Electoral Officer, serving as Presiding Officer during general and panchayat elections, and participated in recruitment examinations conducted by various departments of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.

5.  Promoted the Official Language (Hindi) through active involvement in official language implementation programs and institutional correspondence.

D. Commitment and Values

Throughout my tenure, I have remained steadfast in my commitment to academic excellence, student welfare, and institutional development, ensuring the timely and effective completion of all assignments with sincerity, professionalism, and to the utmost satisfaction of my superiors, while upholding the values and vision of DBRAIT.
