Hon’ble Vice-President Launches ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan
Hon’ble Vice-President, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, inaugurated the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ by hoisting the National Flag at Flag Point, Sri Vijaya Puram, on August Kranti Diwas, commemorating the historic Quit India Movement of 1942. Addressing the State Function and Tiranga Concert on Vande Mataram at the DBRAIT Auditorium, he highlighted the historic significance of these islands in India’s freedom struggle. The programme was attended by the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Chief Secretary Ms. Chanchal Yadav, DGP Shri Ravindra Singh Yadav, Adhyaksh, ZPSA, Shri P. Ummer, Chairperson, SVPMC, Smt. M. Vasantha, senior officers and other dignitaries.
The successful conduct of the prestigious VVIP programme at DBRAIT Auditorium was a matter of great pride for the Institute, reflecting the collective efforts, discipline and professionalism of its teaching and non-teaching fraternity. Extensive preparations and coordination with various departments and agencies ensured effective management of the auditorium, campus and associated facilities.
Dr. (Prof.) Sanmukh Kaur, Principal, DBRAIT, provided overall leadership and supervision of the institutional arrangements and coordinated the activities entrusted to the Institute. She also had the honour of facilitating the ceremonial lighting of the inaugural lamp by the Hon’ble Vice-President and other dignitaries. Her guidance and close monitoring contributed significantly to the organised and dignified conduct of the programme.
The sanitation, campus maintenance, stage and auditorium management, electrical, venue-management and coordination teams, along with the SOVTECH team supporting lighting, sound, streaming and projection, worked with dedication to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. The Department of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (DHMCT) also provided hospitality services at Lok Bhawan and DBRAIT Auditorium, with faculty and students demonstrating professionalism and gaining valuable practical exposure.
The successful VVIP programme stands as a significant institutional achievement for DBRAIT, demonstrating its preparedness to discharge responsibilities associated with programmes of national importance. The leadership of Dr. (Prof.) Sanmukh Kaur, together with the committed efforts of faculty, staff and students, ensured DBRAIT’s meaningful contribution to the dignified conduct of the historic occasion and reflected its spirit of teamwork, discipline, professionalism and service to the nation.
